About How do I get my work published

How do I get my work published?
So I'd like to find a decent agent to help me find publishers for some book ideas, but I have no idea how to find one! I live in a dinky a$$ town right now, but am moving to Albuquerque in a few months. I've looked online, but there are too many scams and shady looking stuff. Any help you can give would be great! Thanks! Lol, I didn't mean "ideas" I meant the books! I have ideas and drafts, and my English professors have looked them over and said they're pretty good, just need some professional editing.

You need to write the entire book first. THEN you begin looking for agents. Write a query letter, which can take much time in itself, because it needs to be perfect.
2 :
1.) Go to the Library 2.) Check out a copy of writer's market 3.) Find several agents. 4.) Send many queries.
3 :
I would recommend that you go out and buy Writer's Market (you can also go to their website at http://www.writersmarket.com/). It's a guide book with tons of information (including lists of agencies with lots of info about what they do and don't publish etc).
4 :
You can not publish book ideas.

First off, an agent will hardly ever represent a story idea. You should have most, if not all, of your story completed before you send it out. And don't ever ever ever send it to an agency that charges a fee for reading your manuscript, that's a scam. As to where to send it, I would recommend checking out a copy of "The Writer's Market" from your local library. That will introduce you to publishing jargon, teach you how to write a query/cover letter, and also list most of the agents and publishers and what genre of stories they represent. Check out this website: http://www.caroclarke.com/iamyoureditor.html That article is called "I am Your Editor: Submitting Your Novel" and the site also has other helpful articles and tips on how to write/finish your book. Good luck to you!

There is a website called borders and if you go on there and create an account there is an area where they can have you publish it. It costs though...If you want to do a longer process go to the library they have books that show you the process and also lists of names for publishers and proof readers...Good Luck!

First of all we have hit a recession. Agents aren't going to help you market book ideas and don't have the time to wait around for it to come to fruition. Publishers are even less inclined considering they have a long list of finished products in which to choose from. --- They have ideas that will be written poorly and others that will be done well. They will have manuscripts that are excellently written with a so so concept so believe me 'ideas' are not gonna cut it in this industry at this time. --- If you are serious spend some time at some libraries and attend some lectures of published authors. Maybe hit up a conference or two attend a workshop and join a national writing organization. Those people will have the best advice because most of them have been doing this for many years.

I suggest that you self-edit your work. You can set it aside for a while and then you can come back to it later and do the editing. Here's a site about you to publish. It is really worth visiting and I hope it can help you with what you want to do with your story. http://selfpublishingjourney.wordpress.com/

About Where can I get a lack of criminal record report (background check) in Albuquerque, NM

Where can I get a lack of criminal record report (background check) in Albuquerque, NM?
I am going to work abroad and I need to get proof of a lack of criminal record and get the paper apostilled. Where do I go to do this in Albuquerque?

"No criminal record" documents are a normal request. Either the Albuquerque Police Department or the county Sheriff's Office can provide one (maybe both agencies, but call first). Same with fingerprints. You will have to go to their appropriate office in person and there is usually a fee. The letter will be on departmental stationary with signatures so it will be an official document. Government agencies in America don't typically use the stamps & seals often found on documents from other countries, but ask if they have stamps or seals that can be added to the letter. http://www.apostilleinusa.com/

About How do I find more work as a film actor

How do I find more work as a film actor?
I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I sent a lot of e-mails to casting director who "added me to their files" and offered their over-priced class (that right, one class) to me. What are some great sites and such I could find work?

Forget the web and get an agent.
2 :
As you've discovered, online "casting agencies" just put your picture on their site and then try to sell you something. You need to get a talent agent (in person) who will get you auditions.
3 :
Yes, I agree with theatre doc. You really should look for an agent rather than on the internet. They will get you more and better quality auditions. Look for a reputable one with no joining fees, entry by audition only and a small number of actors on their books. Good Luck!

About How much should I be getting paid

How much should I be getting paid?
I just graduated from Arizona Automotive Institute with an associates degree in Automotive Autotronics, but have pretty much a lifetime experience with autos, as my father's a certified master mechanic. I've gotten approved for a job with a Dodge dealership here in Albuquerque, New Mexico working on their heavy line, more specifically transmissions, and tomorrow I go to discuss my employment with them and negotiate wages. I've opted to start out hourly until I get the hang of things, at which time I'll switch to flat-rate, but I'm not familiar with the pay rate in the industry and haven't found much online info about it. Is anybody familiar with the work and pay? What should I be aiming for when I go in tomorrow?

id say at least 15+ an hour
2 :
www.careerbuilder.com and www.monster.com have search fields you can use to find the average pay for your skills and areas. Hey, just in case tomorrow doesn't work out, maybe there's a job on there for you.
3 :
Check out salary.com for starters and cal la few shops in town or in another area to geta feel for base pay rates. Remeber, he who brings up money first is going to lose. Don't sell yourself short and don't expect to make top dollar either.
4 :
It does'nt matter what your education is, it's how well you perform. If you can "cut it" you are probably worth about ten bucks an hour. After you switch to flat rate, you will move to around the 8-12 per flat rate hour. Then it depends on your skill and speed. If you are really good you will be able to demand upwards of 20 bucks per flat rate hour. With your background I would expect you to make close to 100k within 5 years. Good luck.
5 :
The typical dealership bodyman will make in the $20.00-$28.00 range working on the flat rate. A good transmission man should do at least that good or better. For hourly, I would expect no less than $15.00 to start if I was sure I could average at least 80% of the flat rate times.
6 :
i have no clue but good luck.
