About any suggestions on how to make a long distance relationship work

any suggestions on how to make a long distance relationship work?....?
me and my boyfriend have been together for 8 months, i know its not that long but we have an amazing bond and truly love each other, were both from albuquerque but he's leaving to college in LA. As it happens i'm moving to San Francisco so we won't be too far and i fly for free so i can go stay with him one weekend every month and we'll be home at the same time for breaks... Any way does any one have any suggestions on how to make this work and keep our relationship strong while were apart?

Make a regular date every week to call each other on the phone and talk. (Skype--the webcam site where you can talk face-to-face over your computer--is an option as well.) The fact that you're going to see each other regularly is good, too. Occasionally do something random like sending him a care package with his favorite food in it. Here's something really creative that I read about in a magazine, but haven't actually tried with a boyfriend (I've done it with a friend who lives far away): both of you rent the same DVD, then pop it in at the same time and watch it together over the phone or IM. (This helps if you're feeling particularly lonely and want to be with him really badly. It's ALMOST like a date, but not quite.)

there is always casual labor (working in a home) such as tutoring, house cleaning, baby-sitting, pet-sitting, running errands for the elderly, yard-work, etcetera......... in the US under FLSA a minor 14 or older may work in an: Office, Grocery store, Retail store, Restaurant, Movie Theater, Baseball Park, Amusement park, or Gasoline service station BUT due to the high the unemployment rate at this time it is very difficult for minors to get a job.........the jobs that use to be held by teens and retirees are now being taken by adults trying to support their families......... Businesses such as Publix, Kroger's, Food Lion, Sonic, Chic-Fill-A, McDonald's, Winn-Dixie, Krystal's, Dairy Queen, and Burger King along with smaller local businesses that are in the same genre tend to hire those your age. Fast-food and grocery stores are willing and able to train new employees but........................ Minors tend to have many issues that affect their ability to work such as tardiness, absenteeism, and numerous schedule requests, poor work-ethic etcetera. I am NOT implying you will have those issues but the fact that many your age do makes it more difficult for you to get an opportunity to prove your worth. Because of this you must be able to show through words and actions that you are reliable, dependable, punctual, detail oriented, coach-able, punctual, mature and team oriented. You will also need great references since you don't have work experience. Talk to teachers, counselors, clergy, coaches, club sponsors, and directors of places you have volunteered or people you have done casual labor for and ask them about giving you a reference. Get accurate, current contact information for them and ask them to be ready to get calls for references from potential employers. Remember: Most businesses are individually owned and operated so it is the owner’s policy and past experience with minors that will determine if they will hire you. Apply everywhere you can, the worse that can happen is they don't hire you. click on the following link for information about child labor laws http://www.youthrules.dol.gov US Department of Labor YouthRules

being 14 i dont believe you can get a job.... but you can always create your own... i did it one summer but the jobs kinda suck...here are some of the thing i did: any kind of lawn maintenance, lawn mowing, weeding, planting, clearing dead plants, spreading mulch. its all manual labor people are happy to have others do. I would either get the home owner to agree to a fixed amount prior to the work or work on an hourly basis.I think i ended up getting $8-$10 dollars an hour depending on how fast i worked. the great thing is that even though it can take up some time it is easy work.

not many places are willing to hire someone so young. i would suggest babysitting or doing odd jobs, like yard clean up for neighbors, hey im in Rio Rancho, i actually need my yard cleaned.......

About Albuquerque (or Los Angeles) to New Zealand.... when's the cheapest

Albuquerque (or Los Angeles) to New Zealand.... when's the cheapest?
I want to do some volunteer work in NZ this winter and I was planning on leaving December/Jan or so. I'm pretty flexible. But just recently, I found a deal where you leave from LA roundtrip total price (including tax) for $916... but it's in late Nov. Do you think I'll find a better deal if I wait (or in early 2008), or should I grab it?

I don't know about the Dates but I have two airlines in Mind that may help. US Airways and Air New Zeland are Great!

http://www.travelbargainsites.com lists great cheap travel sites. One site compares all the airlines at once to find the best fare. The earlier you book, the better the price is usually.

About Mayor Chavez in Albuquerque New Mexico is corrupt

Mayor Chavez in Albuquerque New Mexico is corrupt?
Are we destined just to put up with a mayors behavior, and scandal? The mayor of Albuquerque has been sweeping sexual assults under the rug, has hired buddies that were unqualified, and sexually harrassed and abused women who work for this city, instead of cleaning it up he sweeps it under the rug and pays out large settlements to keep things quiet, and then installs red light cameras to pay for all the mess. I dont even work for the city and I know all about what is going on, whats worse the news media here wont dare do a story on Marty Chavez? Why? Who knows there may be some payout going on there as well. So what can we do? Does anyone know how to report such corruption, if at all anything can be done about this, yes he was elected, but how can the people that vote know about what he is doing if news wont report it. If the scandal doesnt get told, are we stuck with him?

Join a Masters swim team. Most Masters swimmers do not compete, they swim for the health of it. On this website, you'll see a large number of Masters clubs ... you call and choose. http://sites.google.com/site/newmexicomastersswimming/find-a-pool/albuquerque
